The area surrounding The Beloved Hotel includes much of Playa Mujeres and the main tourist attractions in Mexico. It is perfect for excursions and activities.
The Yucatan Peninsula is known worldwide for its Mayan archaeological sites. Venture south from The Beloved Hotel to experience the sprawling ruins of Chichén Itzá, Tulum, or Cobá.
Another unique attraction in the area are the Cenotes. They are a natural well or sinkhole resulting from the collapse of the limestone bedrock exposing the groundwater below. These crystalline springs, connected by a network of underground rivers and which by nature can vary in shape and characteristics, are virtually unique in the Yucatan Peninsula.
The Beloved Hotel also enjoys proximity to the Great Mayan Reef, the second longest coral reef in the world. It stretches for 450 miles, begins at “Playa Mujeres Hotels“, north of Quintana Roo, and borders the coast of Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. Simply amazing!
The bohemian island of fishermen Isla Mujeres, off the coast of The Beloved Hotel, is a 40-minute sailing from La Amada Marina, offers a variety of shopping and dining options. Just fifteen miles north of Playa Mujeres is Isla Contoy, a national park and island wildlife sanctuary known for attracting nesting turtles and for hosting some 150 species of birds.
There are also some seasonal tours in Playa Mujeres, Cancun and activities like snorkeling with whale sharks during the summer.
And when you’re ready for the hustle and bustle of Cancun, The Beloved Hotel is just 20 minutes from the shops, restaurants, and bars of Cancun’s hotel zone.
Before we delve into the nitty-gritty of the review, I wanted to mention some of the top tips we learned from our visit here in 2019.
As the complex is quite small, all the buildings are close to services and beaches. No matter where you stay, there are no walks to restaurants or the beach. If you are looking for the closest room to the beach, this is the Consentida building. Therefore, we recommend mentioning it when registering.
Make use of the Conciergerie on the beach. No request is too great on the Beloved. Not having to walk to the main lobby for your inquiries and questions is a small benefit, too. So if you have a negroni on the beach, just take a walk to the Conciergerie on the beach to have all your requests fulfilled.
No reservations are necessary for any of the 4 restaurants, so unwind and enjoy the benefits of this boutique resort.
If there is something specific you want more or less in your minibar, be sure to reach out to the concierge as they are excellent and cater to your every need.
If you are a fish lover, try the sushi bar next to the Lupita lounge. You will be impressed by the quality of the offer. The Wi-Fi in the complex is quite weak, so if you need to join a conference call or do some serious work, you may have to sit in reception to get a strong enough signal to survive.
