Given that 23% of American adults plan to travel abroad this summer, there will be an increase in international travel in 2023.
According to the Vacationer's "Summer Travel Survey & Trends 2023" report, that is an increase from 20% in 2022.
However, none of the intrepid travellers are able to leave the country unless their passports are valid for travel to the United States.
Unfortunately, increased travel demand also results in longer wait times for passport processing.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted that the demand for passports is "unprecedented"
And that 22 million passports were issued by the government in 2022, with record levels of demand anticipated in 2023.
Blinken cited passport activity could be up by 35%-to-40% this summer.
