First step: cleansing

In the evening, you can use milk or the same wash gel that you used in the morning for cleansing.

Frequency of deep cleansing
If you have oily skin, deep cleansing should be done no more than once every 7 to 10 days. Owners of dry skin need to do deep cleansing once a month, and for normal skin, the optimal frequency is once every one and a half to two weeks.
The number of procedures includes steam baths, peeling, and masks – cleansing and exfoliating.
Under the influence of steam, the blood begins to circulate faster, the pores open, dust, dirt, sebum are freely removed from them. In addition, hot steam helps to quickly get rid of dead cells.
To make a steam bath, it is enough to heat the water (or better – a decoction of calendula, chamomile, celandine, plantain, oregano, St. John’s wort and other medicinal herbs) to a boil, put the pan on the table and bend over the steam, covering your head with a towel. In this case, the face should be clean, and it is better to protect the hair with a scarf. The main thing is not to burn the skin and nasopharynx, inhale the steam carefully, gradually getting used to it. The duration of the bath is 10 – 15 minutes.
Instead of herbs, you can use essential oil – you only need 10 drops per liter of water.
After a steam bath, the skin becomes soft and it is easier to remove impurities from it. Blot your face gently without drying. Apply a nourishing cream suitable for your skin type. After that, it is best to go to bed – after all, such baths need to be done in the evening, because after them you cannot go outside.
Correct peeling promotes rapid skin renewal, makes the skin smoother and smoother, and helps to get rid of fine wrinkles. At home, it is recommended to peel with the help of special scrubs, which you can buy in the store, or you can prepare it yourself.
For oily skin: take 1 teaspoon of crushed oatmeal and almond powder, add a little honey and aloe juice, dilute with 1 teaspoon of boiled water.
For dry, normal or combination skin: take equal amounts of coffee grounds and cottage cheese, mix thoroughly.
Such a scrub must be applied to the face, avoiding the area around the eyes, gently massage without stretching the skin, after 10 minutes, rinse with warm water and apply the usual cream.
How do scrubs work? The smallest solid particles (coffee grounds, almond powder, etc.) “roll up” under the dead scales on the skin and break them off. Instead of homemade scrubs, you can buy factory-made scrubs in the store – they contain both natural and artificial exfoliating granules.

Second step: toning
The roles of the tonic are often underestimated and ignored altogether. It helps to restore the skin’s pH level and help the beneficial components of the creams work more efficiently.
Toning is the stage following cleansing. If you do it regularly, your enlarged pores will shrink, your pH will return to normal, and your skin will be prepared for further care. It is believed that it is after toning that she is ready to assimilate the components of cosmetics as much as possible. - The main task of any lotion is to give the skin as much moisture as possible and at the same time make sure that it does not evaporate for as long as possible. In addition, the lotions are very quickly absorbed and do not leave any greasy residue behind, which is very suitable for daytime skin care. And the substances that make up the lotions protect the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and thereby, as it were, protect it from premature aging.
- Lotions containing alcohol dry the skin and therefore are categorically unsuitable for dry skin, but it is better not to use them for oily skin as they not only remove oil, but also remove moisture, and the skin can flake off and become rough. Those with sensitive skin also need to be more careful with them.
- Be sure to familiarize yourself with the ingredients of the lotion. You have to be more careful with lotions and tonics “without alcohol”. You should always ask what it contains instead of alcohol (there must be something that dissolves fat). This ingredient can be even more harmful to the skin than alcohol.
- To disinfect acne, it is better to use not a lotion or tonic, but traditional salicylic alcohol (of course, cauterizing only damaged areas with it) or antiseptic oils (tea tree, fir), as well as herbal tinctures and extracts.

As for water, it’s clear, you just need to drink a lot, at least 8 glasses a day. This is about nutrition from the inside. Outside, it is also necessary to “feed” the skin, and no less thoroughly. Different nourishing creams do the best with this task, but only if they are applied according to all the rules.
- Firstly, it is not recommended to use the same cream for a long time, because after a year the skin gets used to it and the effect of the action is noticeably reduced. By the way, not all cosmetologists support this point of view, considering it an advertising ploy of weak manufacturers who are trying to bypass competitors with such an argument, but it is probably better to change the cream from time to time – at least for the purpose of invigorating variety.
- Secondly, the cream is chosen necessarily depending on the season. In summer, it should be light and low-fat, in winter, on the contrary, thick, as saturated as possible.
- Thirdly, the cream should be applied after washing, on still damp skin in the morning and at least an hour before bedtime in the evening. The thing is that water “conducts” nutrients into the skin well, and the cream itself “gives off” its strength for about an hour.
Step 5: Taking a break from makeup
Once a week, you should set aside a day when the decorative cosmetics will be idle. On this day, only useful, nourishing or moisturizing masks can be on the face. Do not forget that the skin must breathe. And she, like a person, needs rest.
